Wan V3.0 is Alibaba’s newer Wan video model. It can start from four things: a description, a photo, a first and a last picture, or reference pictures of something you want in the clip.

Clips run from 2 to 30 seconds, come with sound, and go up to 1080p.

How to get the most out of it

  1. Use reference pictures for anything that must look right. Your pet, a special object. Clear pictures from more than one angle help.
  2. Say who or what the references are in your message: “my dog”, “my teapot”.
  3. Fill long clips with slow change. Growth, a journey, light moving across a room.
  4. Try 5 seconds first, then go longer once the look is right.

How it compares with its siblings

Wan V3.0 Prime offers the same options and is a step up from this one, a bit slower. The older Wan V2.6 works from words only and Wan V2.6 I2V from photos only, both up to 15 seconds.

When to pick another model

For 4K, choose Kling V3.0 or Seedance 2.0. To copy the movement of another video, look at Kling V3.0 Motion. To change a clip you already have, try Grok Imagine Video.
