Ministral 3B is a chat assistant from Mistral, a French AI company. It’s the smallest model Mistral offers in chatmodel.
Small models are built for speed and simple jobs. Ministral 3B can write a short message, make a list, read a photo or give you the gist of a short PDF. It answers straight away, without stopping to think first, so it works best when the request is clear and the answer is short.
How to get the most out of it
- Keep each request simple. One job per message works better than three at once.
- Say how long. “Two sentences” or “a list of ten items” keeps it on track.
- Give it the real text or photo. It does much better with the recipe or label in front of it than from memory.
- Move up when it struggles. If the answer feels thin, send the same message to a bigger model.
