In plain words
Claude Opus 4.7 is a chat assistant from Anthropic. It’s one of the Opus versions, the most careful size of Claude, and it sits between Opus 4.6 and Opus 4.8.
It thinks before it answers, reads PDFs and understands photos. That makes it a good second pair of eyes: on your own writing, or on two documents you need to compare. It doesn’t search the web.
How to get the most out of it
- Say what kind of feedback you want. “Be honest but kind” or “only point out what’s confusing”.
- Protect your voice. Ask it to suggest changes rather than rewrite, if the words need to stay yours.
- Upload both documents when comparing, and ask for a table.
- Ask it to interview you. For memories and family stories, questions one at a time bring out details you’d forget.
How it compares with its siblings
Claude Opus 4.6 is the version before it, and Claude Opus 4.8 the one after, which adds web search. Claude Opus 5 is newer still, and Claude Fable 5 is meant for the most demanding jobs. For quicker help, try Claude Sonnet 5.
