In plain words
Claude Opus 4.6 is a chat assistant from Anthropic. It’s one of the Opus versions, the most careful size of Claude, and the app describes it as made for code and work with many steps.
You don’t need to be technical to use that. It means it’s good at keeping track of details: a spreadsheet, a plan with several people, a contract with many clauses. It thinks before it answers, reads documents and understands photos. It doesn’t search the web.
How to get the most out of it
- Describe what you have. “Column A is the date, B is the amount” helps it write the right formula.
- Ask for one step at a time if you’re new to spreadsheets, and say when each step works.
- Paste the exact error rather than describing it.
- For plans, list the people and dates. It can then share out the jobs fairly.
How it compares with its siblings
It came after Claude Opus 4.5 and before Claude Opus 4.7. Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Opus 5 are newer and can search the web. For a quicker helper with spreadsheets, Claude Sonnet 4.6 is a lighter choice.
