What Transcribe Audio does
Transcribe Audio listens to a recording and writes down what was said. You get the text with timestamps, so you can go back to the moment someone said something.
You can upload a file you already have, like a voice note or a video from your phone, or record straight from your browser. If you upload a video, it takes the sound out first and transcribes that.
When it’s done you can copy the transcript, or download it as a plain text file or as a subtitles file for a video.
What to do next with the text
A transcript is often the first step, not the last:
- Get the short version. Paste it into Summarize Text and pick Key Takeaways for the decisions.
- Ask questions. Paste it into a chat and ask “Who agreed to do what?”
- Translate it. Recorded in another language? Paste the text into Translate.
- Tidy it up. Run a quote you want to use through Grammar Check.
If you downloaded the subtitles file, most video players and editing apps let you add it to your video, so people can follow along with the sound off.
What it won’t do
- It won’t be perfect with noise, crosstalk or strong accents. Read it through before you share it.
- It won’t take recordings longer than 60 minutes in one go.
- It won’t summarize or translate by itself. Use the tools above for that.
Always ask people before you record them. See all the tools.
