In plain words
Veo 3.1 makes short videos. You describe a scene, or upload a photo, and it turns it into a clip of 4, 6 or 8 seconds.
The big thing to know is sound. The clip comes with it, so a beach can sound like waves and a market like a busy morning. If you want the sound to match, say so in your description.
It can also work between two pictures: give it where the scene starts and where it ends, and it makes the movement in between.
How to get a good result
- Describe what moves. “Waves roll onto the sand” is better than “a beach”.
- Describe what you hear. “Seagulls in the distance”, “a kettle starts to whistle”.
- Say what the camera does. “Slow walk along the shore”, “still camera”, “follows beside him”.
- Keep it to one moment. Eight seconds is short. One scene with one or two actions works best.
- Start from a picture if you want a specific look. You can make one first on the Image page.
When to pick another model
If you don’t need sound and want to see real examples first, look at Seedance V1.0 Pro Fast, which has clips on its page and allows videos of up to 12 seconds. All the options are on the video models page.
